From Mother’s Day to Memorial Day, May brings celebrations to the Tri-Valley
Spring and summer are filled with festivals and outdoors events in California’s Tri-Valley region, taking advantage of the temperate climate and beautiful weather. Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin all have spring events, and so does nearby Danville. So come explore Northern California and all our small-town charm.
Roses for Mom at The Rose Hotel

Blooms & Bottles for moms
The Tri-Valley’s tranquility makes the region a great place to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend. Start things off on Friday, May 10 with the Blooms & Bottles Floral Arranging Class at Concannon Vineyards in Livermore.
From 6 to 8 p.m., participants will create their own floral arrangements to take home under the guidance of an experienced designer. An array of colorful flowers are on offer to build a bright bouquet while sipping on an included glass of wine. Tickets are $80 to $85 and available on the Concannon Vineyards website.
Brunch with mom
On Mother’s Day itself, Sunday May 12, Nella Terra cellars in Sunol is celebrating with a classic event: Mother’s Day Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brunch will have a variety of exciting activities on offer, with a catered buffet, live music, flower bouquet building, family photos for an additional cost, and an open bar for beer, wine and mimosas. Tickets are available on Tock for $25 to $95 per person.
Throughout all of May, there are also Cinco de Mayo celebrations, more winery events, cocktail competitions, two wine strolls, and many more opportunities to enjoy the Bay Area.
Sip and savor
A reminder that the Summer Wine Stroll starts at 5 p.m. May 4 at Museum on Main. Participants will eat and nibble their way through downtown Pleasanton before the event wraps up at 8 p.m. If you miss out on the Pleasanton event, don’t worry you can always make it to the May 9 stroll in Danville.
The Spring Sip & Stroll is 5:30 to 8 p.m. on May 9. Participants can explore offerings from local businesses in Downtown Danville and the Danville Livery shopping center, sipping local wine from a commemorative tasting glass you get to keep.
Trolley rides included in admission ensure no driving is needed between the shopping center and Downtown Danville. Tickets are available on the Danville Chamber of Commerce website for $15 to $150, depending on the level of experience desired.
#GameChangers Awards
For visitors looking to meet those making waves in the Tri-Valley with beneficial business partnerships or to learn about innovation in the area can check out the 2024 #GameChangers Awards on Thursday, May 9 at Pleasanton’s Goal Line Studios. From 5 to 8 p.m., attendees can visit with the founders of startups and learn how the people behind the companies hope to change the world. Part of the evening will be an awards program honoring the innovators.
Creative entrepreneurs in the Tri-Valley benefit from the proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area’s legendary culture of inspiring innovation and the event provides an abundance of networking opportunities over appetizers and drinks prior to the awards portion. Event host Innovation Tri-Valley is selling tickets online through Eventbrite for $75 each.
Livermore street festival
Livermore is hosting its Downtown Street Fest 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The festival celebrates all things local, including beer and wine, food, entertainment and arts and crafts.
Vendors will be selling something for everyone to remember their Tri-Valley trip, as will the local boutique shops and restaurants in Downtown Livermore. The event also features live music and activities for kids, ensuring fun for the whole family. The event is free to attend, with tasting passes for local wine and beer available for $20 on Eventbrite and in person at the event.
Beer fest
Beer enthusiasts exploring the Tri-Valley on Thursday, May 23 can check out Shops and Hops in Downtown Danville from 6 to 9 p.m. Featuring local beers and snacks on offer, attendees will explore the area’s shops, supporting local businesses and learning about area craft brews from brewery workers.
Tickets support the Museum of the San Ramon Valley and are available on Eventbrite for $10 for designated drivers and $35 for those sampling local brews.

Families visiting the area on Saturday, June 1 can take a trip backward in time and relive their childhood at the Old Time Toys and Games Family Day event at Pleasanton’s Museum on Main.
