Every Tuesday, local beer bar BottleTaps in Pleasanton hosts Trivia Night from 7 to 9 p.m. with Taco Tuesday specials. See how your trivia knowledge stacks up against other contestants for a chance to win prizes for the top three teams.

Wine and Song
Those looking to check out the local music scene can go to Las Positas Vineyards in Livermore on Friday, March 7, Saturday, March 8, Friday, March 14, Saturday, March 15 and Friday, March 21. The vineyards are hosting their Evening in the Vineyards Live Music series from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on each of those dates.
A rotating selection of performers play a variety of music genres, while Las Positas offers glasses and bottles of their wine, tapas and dessert for purchase. Admission is restricted to those 21 and over and is $5 per person, with tickets available from the Las Positas website.
When you’re looking to relax and unwind in the evening, McGrail Vineyards and Winery in Livermore has you covered with their Sunset Sips events from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 26. Guests can take in beautiful Tri-Valley sunset views while enjoying McGrail’s wines by the glass or bottle.
A carefully chosen playlist will help set the ambience, while a food truck will offer options to satisfy your hunger. Admission to the event is free, while food and wine are sold separately.
Wearing of the green
Tri-Valley visitors celebrating St. Patrick’s Day weekend can explore downtown Pleasanton’s bar scene at the St. Patrick’s Day Brew Crawl on Saturday, March 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best green and St. Patrick’s Day-themed attire to sample more than 25 beers at local businesses.
After checking in at Pleasanton’s Museum on Main, guests receive a wristband, commemorative glass and a program outlining all the businesses offering brews to explore. The event will also feature live music, a car show, food trucks, photo booths and more. Brew crawl tickets are available on Eventbrite for $55.20 per person.
Those looking to keep the St. Patrick’s Day festivities going can attend the St. Patrick’s Day party at McGrail Vineyards on Sunday, March 16. Taking place from 12 to 4 p.m., the event celebrates the Irish heritage of McGrail’s founding family.
Attendees can expect tastings of McGrail’s Celtic Series Red Blend, wine for purchase, a food truck that will have special St. Patrick’s Day menu offerings and live Irish and Celtic music from performers visiting from the U.K.
Tickets are available on Tock for $15 per person for McGrail wine club members and $25 for non-members. Festive St. Patrick’s Day apparel is encouraged.
If you’re staying through St. Patrick’s Day itself, traditional Irish band Téada is performing at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore on Monday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is sure to make this one a St. Patrick’s Day to remember with the sounds of Téada’s classic Irish songs.
Tickets are available from the Livermore Valley Arts website for $25 to $60.
Cultural beat
Aficionados of Japanese music will enjoy YAMATO – the Drummers of Japan on Wednesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bankhead Theater. YAMATO uses traditional Japanese Taiko drums, and their ensemble features more than 40 distinct drums.
YAMATO has played for audiences in 54 countries with performances sure to invoke a variety of feelings, from the soft to exciting with some comedy added to the mix. YAMATO tickets are available from the Livermore Valley Arts website for $25 to $85.
