Enjoy flowers, wine, and song in the Tri-Valley
As April turns to May here in the Tri-Valley, we happily welcome the first whispers of summer. It’s the perfect time of the year to enjoy a glass from one of our local wineries, see the local sights and explore all this Northern Californian paradise has to offer.
Those looking for a place to stay in the area need look no further than the Rose Hotel. Inspired by European boutique hotels and complete with a Victorian-style exterior, our accommodations offer an intimate setting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Flowers, wine, and song
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11, and what better way to kick off a celebratory weekend for mom than with flowers? The American Association of University Women (Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek Branch) will have their 23rd Annual Garden Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10. Tickets are $45 per person.
The theme for this year’s tour is “Escape to Serenity,” and will feature six gardens in Danville, Alamo, and Diablo. In addition to celebrating the beauty of gardens, the tours are fundraisers for AAUW’s Local Community Projects including scholarships for local students, STEM for middle school girls, and other community programs.
Also happening this weekend on Saturday, May 10, is the Pleasanton Downtown’s annual sip and stroll wine event. Downtown Pleasanton’s Wine Stroll starts with a check-in at the Museum on Main. There participants will receive an event glass, wristband, and map to guide them on their local wine journey around downtown Pleasanton.
Numerous wineries from Livermore Valley will have their offerings for tasting, and local restaurants will have small bites carefully selected for pairing with your wine. Live musicians will add to the ambience as well. Tickets are available from Eventbrite for $60.54 per person.
End the day with a song at Las Positas Vineyards in Livermore. Evening in the Vineyards Live Music is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night. This ongoing concert series features a rotating list of musicians performing different genres of music.
In addition to the musical performance, Las Positas will have wine available by the glass or bottle as well as tapas and dessert for sale. Tickets are $5 per person for this 21-and-over event, minus taxes and fees, available for purchase on Eventbrite.
For beer lovers
Craft beer enthusiasts can skip the wine and flowers and spend the day on Saturday, May10 at the 2025 Livermore Valley Craft Beer Festival. The festival takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Las Positas College Athletic Field in Livermore, where visitors can enjoy brews from dozens of Northern California breweries and sample local cuisine while listening to live music.
Firefighting demonstrations are also part of the program from the event’s sponsor, the Las Positas College Fire Service Technology program. Tickets are available from the festival website and range from $20 to $95, depending on whether you’re drinking and your desired admission package.
