Come enjoy the Scottish Games, historical Pleasanton walks, and more
In Northern California’s Tri-Valley region, August is the month for that last summer escape before the busy fall months arrive. Getting away just before the school year starts for a final vacation brings summer to a close with quality time with family and friends, and amazing memories.
The Tri-Valley’s proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area ensures that it’s an easily accessible place for those looking to escape to a slower pace with a small-town feel. Embrace the small-town comradery the region offers with a stay in Pleasanton.
Pleasanton’s Rose Hotel leans into the area’s charms with its inspiration from Old World boutique-style European hotels. Our intimate size and elegant ambience are here for you to enjoy a quality stay in a tranquil setting, letting your mind immerse itself in relaxation.
Despite our smaller towns and quieter way of life, our area is rich with things to do. During your stay, make sure to explore some of these upcoming attractions for August 2024 and early September 2024 in the Tri-Valley area.
Vietnam memories
Visitors looking for an insight into how history changed our world can check out the Textures of Remembrance exhibit at Pleasanton’s Museum on Main. The exhibit, which runs until Sept. 28, features a variety of media in which refugees who fled Vietnam upon the end of the Vietnam War in 1975 share their experiences.
The Museum on Main is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free, though donations are accepted.
2nd Street history walk
Those more interested in local history can join the Charles Huff Free Walking Tour on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. The tour, hosted by the Museum on Main, takes place through Pleasanton’s historic Second Street Neighborhood and explores the stories behind the homes in the area.
Attendees learn about the families who lived in the neighborhood, what their lives were like and how they helped shape the Pleasanton community. While the event is free, it’s recommended to make a reservation by calling the Museum on Main at (925) 462-2766.
