From arts to shopping, downtown Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley offer visitors many spring entertainment options

We’re so excited that Pleasanton is back to buzzing these days! The Rose Hotel is situated in a vibrant and pedestrian-friendly downtown that’s home to more than 600 businesses, including shops, galleries, restaurants, and more. You could while away a weekend and never leave Main Street!

However, there’s so much more to see and do in the Tri-Valley area. Here are a few ideas to help make your visit to theTri-Valley memorable.

Pack a Picnic

April is one of the finest months to enjoy the outdoors in Pleasanton, so why not sit a spell and relax with a picnic? Just a mile-and-a-half from The Rose Hotel is Mission Hills Park, featuring its recently renovated 50-foot slide. It also has a large grassy area, BBQ pit, and playground.

For recommendations on the most scenic picnic sites, wineries where you can sip and nosh, and more, check out the Visit Tri-Valley website, an excellent resource for visitors to the Bay Area.

Sample Local Brews

April 7 is National Beer Day, but you don’t need an official day to sample stellar brews from a variety of local bars. Places like Beer Baron Whisky Bar & Kitchen, BottleTaps, 828 Bites and Brews, and many more are all happy to help you find that perfect pint.

Tour the Gardens

The 18th annual Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour and Green Home will be take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 30 and May 1 in various nearby cities, featuring dozens of private gardens—many of which are new to the tour this year. Register well in advance to get the map and tickets!

Visit the Fairgrounds

Whether you love felines, fillies or forsythias, April at the Alameda County Fairgrounds brings a trio of tempting events: The All-Breed Cat Show April 2-3, Golden Gate Arabian Horse Association Show April 2-3, and the San Francisco Bay Flower and Garden Show April 7-10. Check the fairgrounds’ event calendar for more details.
